Some three foreign nationals suspected to be human traffickers have been arrested by authorities in Koforidua in the Eastern Region of Ghana.

Reports say the suspects rented the apartment at Trom, a suburb of New Juaben South Municipality and through the internet recruited their victims mostly from Burkina Faso under the guise of securing them a well paid job in Ghana.
The victims arrive with hopes of securing a job but they are detained and their travel documents and personal belongings seized.
About 20 victims including three young women detained in the suspects house were also rescued during the operation on Saturday January 9, 2020.

One of the male victims, however, managed to escape few days ago and after joining the Muslim prayers at Koforidua Zongo narrated his ordeal to the Muslim leadership through a French interpreter.
It was reported to the police which lead to the arrest of the three suspects who are currently in police custody.
