Africa Dancehall King, Shatta Wale has decided to unfollow everyone on his Instagram page with the exception of American singer Beyoncé and Jamaican artiste Vybz Kartel.
Understandably, Shatta Wale is seeking rebirth and possibly and rebranding after being featured on Beyoncé’s Already music video which has skyrocketed his ratings.
This rebirth of his, possibly, demands that he unfollows all local artistes and only move with the international ones to send a clear message that he is now rolling with the top dogs.
Also, Shatta Wale has deleted all his posts, leaving only the one he took alongside Beyoncé and has currently uploaded a new one of himself in his office on IG.
Shatta Wale is looking to make this music thing a business venture with the opening of an office and to position himself as a seven-star musical god on the continent.
That’s not all, Shatta Wale, who has 2.7 million followers on the platform, has also unfollowed almost all the accounts he used to follow leaving only Beyonce and Jamaican star Vybz Cartel. None of his celebrity pals in the Ghanaian entertainment scene made the cut in the massive pruning exercise.
An exclusive source from the camp of the SM President has it that he is embarking on this social media pruning as part of a rebranding exercise.
“There are a number of projects in the pipeline Shatta Wale will be embarking on and there is the need to refocus his brand.
“Some work has also been done on his Facebook page although it is not as obvious as this because of how that platform is structured.
“In the coming days, people are going to see a more serious and business-minded Shatta Wale because of the direction in which he is going,” the source said.
On Twitter, Shatta Wale currently follows 641 accounts and it is unclear whether that list will also be cut down.
