Former President John Dramani Mahama has caused quite the stir in the political realm after declaring that the NDC might not accept the results of the 2020 elections if they lose.
According to the former President, although the NDC has been consistent in accepting the results of every elections whether they win or lose, this time they are not just going to do so unless they are convinced it’s a credible election.
Mahama was speaking during the 28th-anniversary celebration of the NDC.
“As leader of the NDC, I wish to serve notice that we shall do all our parts to ensure that our country remains peaceful and that the electoral process proceeds smoothly but let nobody assume that we will accept the results of a flawed elections,” he said.
“And we have a history of accepting results of the elections whenever we have believed in the integrity of the polls.”
According to Mahama, the NDC’s Supreme Court case against the new voter’s register would determine to them whether they see this election as credible and thus by extension – whether they will accept the results of the elections or not.
