Musician Naana Blu Scams Previous Record Label That Intends to Sue Her for Breach of Contract—All the Details + Copy of Contract
ShareShareShareShareShare

Abigail Mensah, now known in showbiz as Naana Blu, a rising musician whose recently rendition of Kofi Kinaata’s ‘Things Fall Apart’ got her social media attention and an interview on Peace Fm, in 2015 signed a Management and Record contract with Darling Music Limited, a music and talent management company in Accra.

Darling Music Limited is now working with their lawyers to sue Naana Blu, for breach of contract—and for behaviour which can be described as ‘fraudulent’.

Wobeti.com has obtained a copy of the contract which was signed between Darling Music Limited and Naana Blu confirming that indeed the two had an exclusive 10-year deal—and Naana Blu was to remain the artist of Darling Music Limited for this period.

However, Naana Blu has ditched her obligations under the contract—and she is currently engaged in musical activities with Eshun’s former record label-Quophimens music, we’ve learnt.

Under the agreement with Darling Music Limited, Naana Blu who was using the stage name ‘Esi Cutie’ at the time was supposed to record at least 5 studio albums—and yet she recorded none.

Naana Blu signed with Darling Music Limited when she was at school and under Darling Music, her first single, ‘Love Me’ was released. Darling Music spent over 50,000 GHS in recording, promoting and even shooting a music video for the song which received paid-for-plays on 4Syte TV at the time, our source at Darling Music said.

Victoria Lebene and other video vixens were paid to appear in the video—and several paid interviews were arranged for her.

Our source added that “Darling Music spent a huge amount of cash on Naana Blu and yet she has decided to abandon her obligations under the contract and she is out there with a different label doing whatever she wants as if she never

Wobeti.com has been told that Darling Music Limited still has other unreleased music videos of Naana Blu on their computers which they paid hugely for.

“Naana Blu has become a con artist if you consider how she has treated Darling Music Limited. She told the label executives who were waiting on her to finish her education to pursue music full time that she needed a bit of time to complete National Service after school—and that is it. We have now seen her working with a new label” our source told us.

When we contacted Naana Blu for comments, she said she “used to work with Darling Music”. When asked, does it mean she does not work with them anymore and what happened—she declined to comment further.

Apparently, Darling Music Limited is currently speaking to their lawyers to bring a breach of contract claim against the rising musician.

Naana Blu’s contract
And even if that does not happen, Naana Blu’s behaviour would further endorse industry speculations that Ghanaian musicians are ungrateful and that they are not worth anyone’s investment.

Darling Music Limited is owned by Mimi Adani Michaels and her husband Nana Michaels.
