As the COVID-19 pandemic exacts global toll on lives and livelihoods, Ghana’s case count keeps increasing steadily since the first index case was reported on March 12, 2020.
With the total number of confirmed cases increasing day-in and day-out, the situation in Ghana needs urgent attention as the people are sitting on tenterhooks because of the difficulty to decipher between an infected and uninfected person.
It got to a point in the early stage of the fight against the virus that, the President needed to impose a partial lockdown on some parts of the country particularly Greater Accra Region, Greater Kumasi and some part of Central Region which is Kasoa. The total number of confirmed cases in Ghana and the Greater Accra Region is at its peak now.
The rate at which the virus is spreading across the country is very alarming and disheartening. The country has recorded an excess of 4,000 confirmed cases of this novel, corona virus. Looking at the way this deadly virus is claiming a lot of lives in different parts of the world, Ghana may not afford to face this kind of situation as it is very scary and disheartening.
The case in increasing daily and the President has to do something about this situation because we will continue to see daily increase in the case count as the residents are not strictly adhering to the precautionary measures and directives from the President.
Ghanaians must remain resolute and strictly adhere to all the precautionary measures put in place by health officials and Government to protect us from this deadly virus. We need total compliance to the social distancing protocol, regular hand washing and wearing of nose cover to protect ourselves.
