It has been revealed that 20 healthcare workers at the Effia Nkwanta Regional Hospital in the Western region have tested positive for the deadly Covid-19 pandemic.
According to reports, there is currently a meeting ongoing between the health service and directors of the hospital to assess the situation and find a lasting solution to it.
Meanwhile the hospital believes it put in place a number of measures to protect the health workers from the virus and would want to ascertain the loopholes.
So far the Western Regional case count stands at 170 and the total coronavirus cases in the country is 6269 with 1898 recoveries and 31 deaths.
The Health Directorate in the Ashanti Region also revealed yesterday that about 30 health workers in the region have contracted the deadly coronavirus.
According to the health directorate who admitted the regional case count for the Ashanti Region keeps soaring, the affected health professionals are currently under treatment and are responding very well.
