The director of the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) in the Amansie Central District of the Ashanti region has been arrested for allegedly producing and selling fake hand sanitizers.
Joyce Frimpong was arrested on Friday, April 3, at her Jacobu residence, by a joint police and national security operatives upon intelligence reports received.
A police source told reporters that, some police officers bought some of the products from the suspect to determine the standard of quality of the product
The items were being sold at GH¢2, GH¢10 and GH¢175 depending on the size of the product
The suspect has been kept at police custody while further investigations are being carried
The police has since cautioned the general public to be extra careful when buying items from the market
